About Wild Black Horse

Morgan Head Horse on BeachAs a photographer, I have been fortunate with having the opportunity to capture these breath-taking wild horses in their natural element. And having owned a most remarkable Black Morgan Mare named Calypso, I continue to find myself drawn to black horses – whether they are wild or domesticated.

Calypso passed away at the age of 29 years old. Instead of getting myself another horse, I have fallen in love with the Wild Mustangs. I’ve traveled to a number of wilderness areas throughout Nevada and Utah to photograph these amazing animals. Sadly, their freedom is in jeopardy due to migration onto private lands, in competition with cattle ranchers wanting more land to graze their cattle on, and to the senseless roundups imposed by the Bureau of Land Management.

During my time photographing the Mustang horses I’ve had the pleasure meeting a number of wild horse advocates and BLM officials. With the information I’ve gathered regarding the imminent threat of the freedom of the wild Mustangs, I have created The Horse Network Directory website which provides a directory listing of Horse Rescue Organization, Sanctuaries, Advocate information and news regarding America’s Wild Mustangs. Please visit this website: The-Horse.org to find out how you can help with Saving America’s Horses.
