‘Midnight’ is the name I gave to this black stallion I’ve been photographing for several years now. His band has grown to about 17 horses. I was surprised to see another stallion in his herd, who actually acts more like a Sergeant whereas Midnight is definitely the Admiral. But that’s another story.
In Midnight’s herd are these young black yearlings. I haven’t quite figured out if they are fillies or colts, but they are sure cute and stay close by each other. The two with the white stars on their foreheads almost look to be twins and are always close to each other.
There is a third black without any markings on his face. This foal has some white spots on his backside, which looks to be of an Appaloosa descent.
I will have to find out the sexes of these adorable babies next time I go back to photograph them. In the meantime, enjoy what you see of these darling three baby Mustang horses.
